First salmon for 13 year old Max

Regular trout anglers Max Vallance (13) and his dad booked their first salmon

experience and casting lesson in the double handed rod with AAPGAI Instructor

Brian Towers at Bolton Castle on the River Ure last month.

After 30 minutes of learning the circle cast, Brian felt confident that Max (13)

was covering the pools successfully and changed his piece of wool for a yellow

AllyShrimp.

Within an hour of picking up a double handed rod, Max was into his first fish in

the Froddle Dub pool, a 15lb hen fish which was returned. He hooked another

one later in the day.

Leyburn, North Yorkshire.

Found Brian very patient and willing to help in mastering a number of casting methods,
Brian's wife was also extremely helping with information about fishing and accommodation in Yorkshire area.

fishing or lessons.
